Since 1981 the Wine Club of Charlottesville
has held educational tastings focusing on pairing wine with foods. The
usual format is two to three flights of wine matched with several foods
outside of a formal dinner venue. Wine makers, vineyard owners or
importers often present their products or portfolio.
The $30 annual membership runs from September and is $20 after December,
reflecting the heavy fall schedule. Joining at attending one's first event is
typical. Each event is
priced separately. Guests or non-members are welcomed and are charged a
